People have great faith in Lord Rama and to please they keep fasts for one whole day and break it once the sun sets. On this day many plays are set up known as the Ramleela. These mostly take place in Delhi where people welcome this festival with great warmth.
In the Ramleela various episodes are shown which show us the valour and courage of Lord Rama and the way he dealt with all the atrocities with responsibility. Various Mantras’ chanted remembering Rama.
Ayodhya the place where Rama was born and the same very place which he ruled is filled with people to visit his temples over there. The temples have statues of Lord Rama, his wife Sita, his brother Laxman and his faithful follower Hanuman.
The main attraction of this festival is the processions that take place. All along the street people dressed in the most colorful attire sing songs praising the Lord and carrying posters of Lord Rama.
