A huge selection of toys and dolls are found here. Due to its cultural diversity, there are numerous types of dolls produced in India. They are all assembled and sent to this museum in Delhi where they are put on display.
The Dolls Museum is divided into two main sectors. In one-sector dolls from Europe, America and Australia are displayed while in the other dolls from other parts of Asia, Africa and internal India are displayed.
Most of the dolls in this museum have been procured as gifts from other countries. The various dolls found here are mainly Hungarian, Spanish, Yugoslavian, Mexican and Sri Lankan.
Dolls from Rajasthan and Gujarat are particularly famous all over the world. Thus it comes as no surprise that dolls from these regions are also found in large numbers in this museum. Many scenes from India's history are shown here using dolls.
Out of these the noted ones are Gandhi's Dandi March, Mangal Pandey and so on. These picturesque scenes are indeed a pleasure to the eyes of the beholders.
The dolls are dressed up right till the last detail. After careful deliberation, they are adorned with jewelry and clothing. Many schools and colleges bring their students here to witness the exhibits here.
Workshops are held in the museum to pass knowledge to people about the production of dolls. The Dolls Museum in Delhi is an artistic and blissful place for a person to spend time surrounded by these beautiful dolls.
